“Who Evaluates AI’s Social Impacts? Mapping Coverage and Gaps in First- and Third-Party Evaluations”, has been accepted to ICML 2026 in Seoul! We study 186 first-party model release documents and 248 third-party evaluations to better understand how social impacts are assessed across the AI ecosystem, finding declining transparency in developer-reported social impact evaluations over time.
